A child is like a butterfly in the wind. Some can fly higher than others, but each one flies the best it can. Why compare one against the other? Each one is different. Each one is special. Each one is beautiful. Author Unknown
Who is Ms. Collins?
Specialist Welcome to my class!
This is my ninth year here at Lewis Elementary as the ESOL teacher. Previously, I was a teacher of the gifted student at Addison Elementary in Cobb County. In total, I have been teaching for 34 years and have taught various grades in Germany, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Every year is as exciting as my 1st year teaching.
I was raised in El Paso, Texas by my mother and grandparents. I delight in telling you that my grandparents are immigrants from Mexico. I am a graduate from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor Degree in Science specializing in Elementary Education. I also hold a Masters of Arts Degree specializing in the Diverse Learner. In addition I hold an ESOL endorsement, Gifted Endorsement, and a Reading Endorsement.
I have two grown children. My daughter is a Math teacher at Pine Mountain Middle School and my son is a wild animal control expert with Trutech. The joy of my life is a Maltipoo named Hamlet and he is 4 years old.
